Ben Rowe Print Edition Coming Soon...

CFPR Editions have recently been in conversation with Sci-Fi inspired artist Ben Rowe with a view to turning one of his remarkably detailed sculptures into a limited print edition.

CFPR Editions' Paul Laidler & Andrew Super, capture Ben Rowe's sculpture
Ben Rowe describes the process behind his craftmanship, in part, as a 'morphing of the digital world into a physical object', so the intrigue and interest in the collaboration lies in the reimagining of the reversal of that process. In this instance the object is digitally captured before being rendered back into the physical as an analogue print edition.

After visiting Ben in his Spike Island studio, and liasing with the artist in the subsequent weeks, it was mutually decided that the work titled Batteries Not Included would be the one to work with.

The CFPR Editions 'Festival of Football Ideas' Exhibition Tour Continues...

During the summer CFPR Editions was invited to provide an exhibition of mini-prints in collaboration with the Festival of Football Ideas (FOFI), a series of talks, presentations and performances, being held at the At-Bristol science centre in Bristol, in the build up to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

Accepting the challenge, and lacing up their boots, CFPR Editions invited a select group of UWE partners alongside staff and students from a range of creative disciplines within the Department of Creative Industries at the University of the West of England; from BA Illustration, BA Graphic Design, BA Fashion, BA Photography, MA Printmaking, Fabrications Department, Library, Epi Centre and members of the Executive, to respond to the theme: 'Football'. CFPR Editions' Paul Laidler was interviewed prior to the festival about the exhibition.

A very pleasing collection of 34 artists responded to the brief; the format for the prints was a set paper size of 20 x 25 cm, and a maximum image size of 10 x 8 cm. Each artist dictated the specific response to the theme of football, and the prints were produced in a limited edition of 11.

The individual mini-prints have since been on somewhat of a tour of Bristol...

From May 23rd - July 8th 2014 the football themed show was exhibited at the Beatroot Cafe, Lower Park Row, Bristol.

During the Festival itself, from May 31st - June 12th 2014 the series of mini-prints were available to view at At-Bristol, where the lectures and performances were taking place.

From June 14th - July 10th 2014, the exhibition then journeyed to SHOP (Vintage Lounge and Arts Venue) C.I.C where it was displayed in the the not-for-profit's community artspace.

From July 11th to August 8th 2014 the much travelled works then found themselves at The Victoria Park in Bedminster.

From July 7th - 1st September 2014, the exhibition returned back home to Bower Ashton in the F-Block Gallery. As part of the FOFI Bower Exhibition, CFPR Editions ran two open studio events for the public to come and find out about the Editions' practice and its artists.

The exhibition is currently on display at UWE's Bower Asthon Library. It has been there since September 21st 2014 and will remain there until a new venue presents itself.

You can view the full exhibition, complete with artist profiles at the FOFI Website.
